Two women have died after crossing the English Channel from northern France in a small boat, officials have said.
Local officials said a boat carrying 80 people ran a ground while attempting to cross from northern France.
Three other people are reported to be in a critical condition.
Secretary-general of the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, Christophe Marx, said the two women are believed to have been in their 20s and of Sudanese origin.
