Donald Trump claims that the US has “shot down” 7 Iranian small boats in the Strait of Hormuz.
It comes after the US military earlier claimed it has destroyed six Iranian small boats in the major shipping channel.
He also claimed that Iran has launched a strike at a South Korean ship located in the waterway, but no other ships have been damaged.
In a post on Truth Social, he wrote: “Iran has taken some shots at unrelated Nations with respect to the Ship Movement, PROJECT FREEDOM, including a South Korean Cargo Ship. Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission! We’ve shot down seven small Boats or, as they like to call them, “fast” Boats. It’s all they have left.

“Other than the South Korean Ship, there has been, at this moment, no damage going through the Strait. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, will have a News Conference tomorrow morning. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
His remarks come after a suspected strike earlier today on a South Korean cargo vessel anchored in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the country’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries
A “suspected strike” was reported on a cargo vessel named HMM Namu in the Strait of Hormuz, the ministry said.
It also said an explosion is believed to have occurred on the port side of the engine room during the suspected strike.
The vessel was reportedly anchored in waters near the UAE and had 24 crew members on board, including six South Koreans and 18 foreign nationals.
No casualties have been reported by the ministry.
